Dr. Reza Saidi is a transplant specialist in Syracuse, NY. He received his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences School of Medicine and has been in practice 19 years. . He completed his fellowship in organ transplantation at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He then joined University of Massachusetts Medical School. He was surgical director of pancreas transplantation at Alpert Medical School at Brown University and surgical director of transplantation and HPB surgery at Shariati Hospital at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, before joining Upstate Medical University as Associate Professor of Surgery and Surgical Director of Kidney transplantation at Department of Surgery. Dr. Saidi’s main focus is kidney and pancreas transplantation in adults and kidney transplantation in children, including re-transplantation and transplantation in surgically challenging and complex patients. He also specializes in liver transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery.

As a surgeon in an academic medical center, Dr. Saidi is also heavily involved in teaching medical students and surgical residents. Effective January 1, 2021 Dr. Reza Saidi will become the Chief of Transplant Surgery at Upstate Medical University. Dr. Saidi earned his medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran. He did his General Surgery training at the University of Kentucky, University of Tennessee and Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI. Following a Transplant Fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital Dr. Saidi joined the faculty at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
